Below, is an interview where he is talking about his latest song, “Play It By Ear,” and showcases his impressive range as an artist

Congratulations on the new song! Can you tell us a bit about the inspiration behind it?

Basically just regular everyday life and the things I see and go through on a daily basis. You know just life itself. I also wanted to spit something that was heart felt.

How does this new song differ from your previous work?

I think on this particular track I took time to address more real-life issues we see in our community and things that we face as a whole. Because I know I’m not the only one who goes through that type of stuff. So I felt like my fans and followers would get a better understanding of the life of Drazmatik and who I am and what it’s like where I come to from-Trenton New Jersey.

What was the recording process like for this song?

The recording process was a piece of cake I was in and out like a Bank Robbery. The song was recorded in a few takes I don’t Know maybe two or three takes. And it was a done deal.

Are there any particular lines or verses in the song that hold special meaning for you?

The line when I say “ain’t seen my Mom in years it’s time for us to speak” I just had a moment when I was writing the verse that’s probably my most important bar to me. I love my mom and wish we had a better relationship.

How did you come up with the beat or instrumental for the song?

The actual beat for the track was produced by Masada who has done production for Wise Intelligent of the legendary Poor Righteous Teachers and a wide range of underground hip-hop artists. He gave me the beat and hopped on it ASAP.

Can you walk us through your creative process when it comes to writing and recording music?

My process? I really don’t have a process I just throw the beat on repeat think about what needs to be said or addressed and take it from there.

Who are some of your biggest musical influences, and how have they impacted your style?

As far as the whole who influenced me thing goes. I was influenced by the whole game and the culture itself. Mostly the east coast hip-hop and all the hip-hop vets and pioneers that came before me I always got to give them their props.
